About the Artist

Hello, my name is Daniel G. Bernstein, and welcome to DB-Designs, a home to Fine Art, Landscape, Macro/Close-up, Nature, and Pet/Animal Photography.

I started my photography interest at the age of 9, when my father and step-mother gave me a Kodak 110 camera.

Then in the early 80’s, my best friend loaned me her 35mm camera, and showed me how to develop photos in a home dark room.

Needless to say, I was hooked!

I came to the Pacific Northwest for the first time in the Spring of 1986, on a 5 day camping trip in the mountains, that took me from Seattle to Portland and then a different route back to Seattle. This New York born/Texas raised young man fell in love with the area.

When I first moved to Washington State in September 1986, it was with the intent to start a photography business, which I did. However, over the years, that vision was pushed to the back burner as a ‘hobby’, because life just got in the way. Well, life has shown me that path again and obviously for a reason – because I absolutely LOVE photography.

I feel my ADHD plays a big part in my ability to see the fine detail Mother Nature has to offer. I don’t look at ADHD as a disability; I see it as a way to draw out the inspiration from the love and natural beauty it allows me to see in the Pacific Northwest region.

Today, as when I was 9, my camera goes with me everywhere. And I believe that fortitude and determination shows in my work.

Whether you order my Note Cards, Magnets, or Paper, Metal, or Gallery Wrap Canvas prints, you can be assured that I make sure the products used in my work are as local as possible and sustainably harvested when available, so I lessen the environmental impact when creating my work.

All paper and envelopes used in my products are FSC Certified, and the cellophane sleeves for my Note Cards are compostable.
